A terrible accident the other day took the life of the pilot of a fire-fighting helicopter in Tasmania. No one can dispute it's a tragedy & all thoughts are with the pilot's family & friends...

3 days in & the good news so far is that it doesn't look like we caught Covid from... somewhere/one, as we suspected we may have. We both had sore throats on New Year's Day & thought oh-oh, here we go... but no - the sore throats have subsided & we don't have any of the other symptoms on the list

Here in Australia, we have a popular ice cream called the Golden Gaytime - vanilla & honeycomb-flavoured ice cream on a stick, covered in sugary crumbs. It was first sold in 1959 when 'gay' just meant happy...

Fast-forward to 2021 & there is a small, but vocal push to have the treat renamed, due to the name's connection to the LGBTQI+ community. ( Read more... )
